This year Fairtrade Fortnight is being held in September from 9th – 22nd.

In the Fairtrade Foundation's 30th year they are continuing to campaign for better prices and power for farmers and calling for rapid action on environmental sustainability and climate justice, the most urgent issues of our time.

Several Wiltshire town Fairtrade Groups will be hosting a Kenyan Fairtrade tea farmer, Patrick Kaberia, who last came to Devizes in 2017 and won the hearts of all those who met him.

Patrick will be attending a civic reception at the Town Hall and there will be a public meeting in the Town Hall on the 19th September to which all are welcome. Local farmers will have the opportunity to discuss the common issues they face, particularly climate change and sustainability.

Please save the date if you are interested in hearing more about how Fairtrade is helping communities and supporting agricultural practices which mitigate the effects of climate change. Local farmers are very welcome to join the discussion on the 19th!

For further information about Patrick’s visit please see the Calne Fairtrade Group Website page on Fairtrade Fortnight WILTSHIRE 2024. (https://www.calnefairtrade.org.uk/ftf2024.html)
